Stay Safe and Celebrate

Gathering Safely with Family and Friends

NOTE: The following information applies to all holidays.

Follow guidelines and social distance to celebrate safely.

To maximize protection from respiratory illnesses, Metro Health encourages everyone to get vaccinated to protect yourself and your loved ones during festivities and celebrations.

Guidelines to Minimize Exposure

  • Stay up to date with news regarding vaccines. Persons 6 months and older are eligible for the COVID-19 and Flu vaccines. Those over the age of 5 are encouraged to get the updated (bivalent) COVID-19 booster.
  • Take everyday prevention actions to stop the spread of germs
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • If you are sick, stay home to limit contact with others.
  • If you feel sick, consider getting tested before attending any gatherings, especially if people who are at high risk of contracting a disease will be present.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes.
    • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based sanitizer.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs.
