Epidemiologists are scientists who study diseases within populations of people. These public health professionals analyze what causes disease outbreaks in order to treat existing diseases and prevent future outbreaks.

Epidemiologists are considered "disease detectives" of the public health world. COVID-19 investigations are all conducted by Metro Health Epidemiologists.

Contact tracing takes an extensive time to conduct along with following up with patients to see how they are doing and report their recuperations.
